Can you imagine a place where humans are slowly becoming extinct?
In a city, many years after a mysterious flu virus wiped out most of humanity and a corrupt government forced many people into hiding, civilians are now no more than second-rate beings, no more important or influential than rats. They are the scavengers, forced to hide underground. It is the government that wields the power in this world. They are the ones that walk the surface and hold all status, killing all civilians on site. And why wouldn’t they, what are the others compared to them?
But there is a brave group that does dare stand up to the government and attempt to fight them off. The Rebels are a determined group, however they do they have quite varying motives. Some of them are in it for the glory alone, to conquer over the government would mean great fame and honor. And yet there is still one more subgroup among the Rebels. They are the ones who fight to rid the world of the the evil, to defeat them once and for all and to return to the surface.
So who deserves to win? Will you side with the rebels in their movement of defiance, or will you join ranks with the government instead? It is a war that might seem endless, possibly even futile at times. But it is certainly not an easy fight; the very ideas behind morality and ethics are fading and becoming blurred. Who is right and who is wrong? Or maybe the question should be, who is weak and who is strong?
What do you think killed them, comrade?
-Perhaps it was their lack of faith?
-Maybe they lacked the vision?
-Nay, I would say t'was their lack of respect for the world around them.
-What are we doing here anyway?
-Making a new beginning, what else! The process of oxidation has already begun; just take a look at those re-started fires! Ain’t life beautiful?
-Who's to say we won't make the same mistake as they did?
-Only the divine could know such things!
-Do you think any of them survived?
-If they did, our orders are clear to terminate them without questions.
